The night closes in and the country opens up!
As the summer fades away and Autumn springs upon us, we are SOOO excited about country music in October. It feels like we’ve really uncovered some hidden gems, in addition to preparing for the amazing ‘Country Music Week’ later on, which is organised by the ‘Country 2 Country’ team. Before that, let’s see what’s on this week for your country ears!
ooh and subscribe to our NEW Youtube Channel to watch Play That Country Music open the UK’s hearts and minds with interviews, gigs and public challenges.
Wednesday 3 October
Robbie Cavanagh, Demi Marriner and Laura Oakes
A great little monthly performance as hosted by Laura who’s a well established UK country artist. Robbie and Demi are fantastic performers – watch out for the song ‘Godsend’ from Robbie!
Thursday 4th October
There’s also the incredible US acts Luke Combs, supported by Ashley McBryde at the Shepherds Bush Empire. Luke performs ‘Hurricane’ and ‘When it rains it pours’, which are two monster country hits. One not to miss.
The Round Up, hosted by Two Ways Home
Get up and personal with some of the great singer songwriters in the UK and US. This is a monthly session with Two Ways Home, who always deliver a great night. They have invited Jeff Cohen (whose songs appear on over 20 million albums sold), Emma Jade and Goldford. The evening works on a ‘tip basis’ instead of an entry fee.
Friday 5th October
The Devil’s Perfect – Free entry
It’s always great when you stumble across free live performances! Jumped down to the Luna Lounge to watch Devil’s Perfects in Leytonstone
Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th October
The Music Makers Festival
2 day event featuring 14 acts including country artists Danni Nicholls and Two Ways Home at the Half Moon Pub – Putney. The weekend is a celebration of independent and high-rising artists, not forgetting Michele Stodart from The Magic Numbers). I’ll be hosting the weekend event, and it’s lining up to be an awesome festival.
